About Daphne

Neurodiversity Parent Consultant - Lived Experience Specialist
Daphne Pressman, MA-CSE/APHD

Daphne Pressman holds a Master’s in Child Study and Education from the University of Toronto.  A married mother of two, she and her entire family share Autism and ADHD diagnoses, giving her both personal insight and professional expertise to help families navigate education and community systems.

What Is Parent Consultation?

Parent consultation is a specialized service for parents raising neurodivergent children. While many services are designed to support your child, parent consultation focuses on supporting YOU.

It provides an opportunity to explore your own questions, challenges, and experiences with someone who brings both professional knowledge and lived experience.

Designed to complement therapy and social work, parent consultation focuses on your needs and experiences as a parent. It is not therapy or treatment for your child.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in professional knowledge of applied psychology, human development, and neurodiversity, together with the lived experience of being an AuDHD parent raising two autistic children.

I combine evidence-informed understanding with lived experience to offer compassionate, non-judgmental support that is practical, validating, and responsive to the realities of your family.

What Happens in a Parent Consultation?

Whether you are waiting for your child’s assessment, adjusting to a new diagnosis, navigating everyday parenting challenges, or facing a difficult decision, we will think through your unique situation together.

My role is to help you:

  • feel less alone in experiences that can be complex and misunderstood;
  • feel more confident in your decisions;
  • make sense of what you are experiencing;
  • identify approaches that feel realistic for you;
  • balance your own needs with those of your child to support sustainable parenting;
  • better understand your child through a neuro-affirming lens;
  • apply neuro-affirming principles to everyday parenting

Parent consultation is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I will not tell you how you “should” parent or assume there is one correct solution. We will explore your circumstances together and consider what supports your child while also respecting your own needs and wellbeing.

Parent Consultation may be right for you if:

  • you feel overwhelmed, isolated, or misunderstood in your parenting experiences;
  • you want support from someone who understands both the research and the realities of raising neurodivergent children;
  • you are questioning your parenting decisions or frequently second-guessing yourself;
  • you are unsure how to respond to behaviours or recurring challenges;
  • conventional parenting advice does not seem to fit your child or family;
  • you are waiting for your child’s assessment or adjusting to a new diagnosis and are looking for support;
  • you want to better understand your neurodivergent child;
  • you are navigating school, healthcare, assessment, or support systems;
  • you are trying to balance your child’s wellbeing with the realities of outside expectations;
  • you want to reduce conflict and strengthen your relationship with your child.

I See the Parent Behind the Advocate

I see the exhaustion.

I see the second-guessing.

I see the isolation.

I see the invisible work.

I see how much you're carrying.... Book now and we can navigate this together.
